PLÅSTRA FÖR BARNCANCER
Every year, children with cancer endure hundreds of needle sticks during their treatment. That’s just as many reasons to remind them they are not alone.
In the film Plåstra för barncancer, created for Fotbollskanalen’s social media in collaboration with AjaBajaCancer and Passion Lab, we set out to tell a story that carries both pain and hope. At the center is Mimmi, a young football player who, during her cancer treatment, no longer had the strength to play with her team. It led to a deep sense of loneliness, of feeling like she no longer belonged. “Training starts again, Mom. Do you think they still remember I’m part of the team?” she asked.
With Mimmi’s own words as the emotional core, the film captures what it feels like to be left out, and the power of being remembered.
The story moves between close-ups of children being gently patched with plasters, a darkened football pitch where Mimmi stands alone, and the turning point where her teammates gather around her. The visual tone is quiet and intimate, built to be felt rather than explained. Her mother watches with pride, a moment of strength, care and hope.
In the final scene, we see hands reaching out with plasters, a simple but powerful gesture. Through football, community and the act of coming together, we wanted to show Mimmi, her family and others going through something similar that they are not alone.
The goal was to create a film that does not just explain but resonates. A story that offers comfort against loneliness, using something as small and powerful as a plaster. A film that gives voice to Plåstra för barncancer and tells a visual story that stays with you.
